Auxiliary Communications Service Net Script
"This is <your call sign>. An Emergency Services Net will be conducted on this frequency in five minutes. The cooperation of all amateurs for the duration of this Net to commence at 1900 hours will be greatly appreciated. This is <your call sign>."
"This is <your first name>, <your call sign>, Net Controller for this evening's Burbank Fire Corps Auxiliary Communications Service Net. The repeater will be returned to normal service following the conclusion of this Net in approximately 15 minutes. The cooperation of all non-participating amateurs during this period will be greatly appreciated.
"This is a DIRECTED NET. Please transmit only when called by Net Control unless you have emergency traffic. Once checked-in, please check-out with Net Control before leaving the frequency. Stations with traffic for the Net should so indicate when checking-in.
"Any station with emergency or priority traffic please call now." (un-key/pause for 5 seconds)
"All member stations please stand-by for check-in. Please remember to pause for a moment after keying your microphone to allow for repeater delay." (un-key/pause)
"When responding, please report the number of hours you've spent on related activities since your last report. This includes working on your station and one hour for this evening's Net." (un-key/pause)
"The Net will now take members with call sign suffixes Alpha through Foxtrot."
Following each check-in to the Net, recognize the caller. Record the check-in and confirm back what you heard by repeating the call sign, name, and hours of the caller. If more than one check-in was heard, announce the call sign (or portion of the call sign) of the member you want to respond. Take the check-in, confirm, and then ask the other caller to try again.
If callers have traffic for the Net, make note to call on them after reading the messages.
"Now taking members Golf through November." (pause for check-ins)
"Now taking members Oscar through Sierra." (pause for check-ins)
"Now taking members Tango through Zulu." (pause for check-ins)
"Are there any late member check-ins -- all suffixes Alpha through Zulu?" (pause for check-ins)
"This is <your call sign>, Net Controller for this evening's Burbank Fire Corps Auxilliary Communications Service Net. We now invite visitor check-ins. Please give your full phonetic call sign along with your name and location. First visitor, go ahead." (un-key/pause for 5 seconds; respond to visitor check-in; repeat until no more check-ins)
"All stations please stand-by. I will now read the weekly Burbank Fire Corps Program Auxilliary Communications Service messages."
Read the weekly BFCP ACS messages. (un-key/pause for 5 seconds between each message)
At the end of the messages:
"Are there any questions regarding the messages? This is <your call sign>." (un-key/pause for 5 seconds)
Call on each check-in with traffic.
"I will now call the closing roll. Please respond with just your call sign. Once called, you are excused from the Net."
Read-out each call sign from check-in list and pause for response. If a station does not answer, call the call sign a second time. If there is no response, continue on to the next call sign. After all check-in call signs have been read:
"Are there any questions before I close the Net?"
"This concludes the regularly scheduled Burbank Fire Corps Auxiliary Communications Service Net. This is <your first name>, <your call sign>, returning the repeater to normal use. Thanks and good evening!"
For the Net check-in's, the operator may use either the updatable Excel version or the viewable-only HTML version of the Net check-in roster. After completing the Net, please e-mail the list of members that checked in and number of hours each, plus the total number of hours and members that checked in, to these two addresses: KG6FXS & W6RJP.
