A big congratulation’s goes out to the members of DCS 
based at Carson Sheriff Station 16.  On February 27, 
the members received individual and group awards from 
the State of California, County of Los Angeles, the 
Carson Sheriff Station Support Foundation and the City 
of Carson for their participation in a wide range of 
both planned and emergent events.  You have each brought 
a positive light onto DCS and we too thank you for your 
hard work and dedication.  More information about the

the Sheriff's Department.  Larry's retirement luncheon

Tickets are $25.00 each and can be purchased by sending 
a check payable to: Larry Bryant Retirement Fund to

Station.  The Tri-City Plus meetings are a discussion 
and planning forum for DCS leaders from Burbank, 
Glendale, San Fernando, and other District 12 cities 
and communities.  All interested amateur emergency 
communicators who live or work in this area are also 
invited to attend.

1. The official CDV and BEARS information is available

2. Eric K6EJC has changed his internet provider.  Please

3. Gene Roske AE6GR is asking for additional operators 
to assist in doing the Monday night nets.  If you are 
available, contact Gene at AE6GR@ARRL.net or 
818 388-5643.  We also need more BEARS members to volunteer 
for the Monday night BEARS nets.  Contact Eric at

4. THE SEMI-ANNUAL DCS MEETING will be at 1930 hrs on 
Monday, March 17, 2008 @ the Burbank Fire Training 
Center/EOC.  The BEARS are the hosts for this event.  
If you are coming, please wear your complete BEARS/CDV 
uniform (polo shirt, dark blue/black pants).  Please 
remember that you must wear your CDV ID card at all 
times at the EOC.  Rick & Wanda Penner have volunteered 
to handle the ‘talk-in’ nets on DCS 145.30 R and 
BEARS 446.86 R.

5. CDV/BEARS/ARSON WATCH UNIFORM ITEMS:
As of January 1, 2008, Eric K6EJC is now responsible 
for handling CDV/BEARS/Arson Watch uniform items.  
You may contact him at any meeting or via email at 
K6EJC@ATT.net.  He hopes to have items previously 
ordered for pick-up at BEARS and CDV meetings.  You 
can also contact him at HRO 818 842-1786.

6. FOR 2008: ALL HOURS REPORTED TO CDV will be handled 
by Thom O'Shaughnnessy KG6FXS.  If you are the net
