Routine: 04/20/2009, 1326 hours
To: All Members
From: Debby Miles, Staff 10 and Rick Norwood, Staff 11

Happy Volunteer week! Rick and I would like to Thank everyone for their
time, effort, and dedication to DCS. We know full well what it takes for your
commitment to our organization and it is very much appreciated. Activations
are not always at a convenient time, training may conflict with personal
commitments, District and County meetings are not always close to home,
and your many District activities definitely tax your personal time. We
immensely appreciate what you do for the Organization. Our DCS hats are off
to you; without your dedication the Organization would not be what it is.
Thank you very much.

((3)) LOCAL (BURBANK) BEARS MESSAGES FOR WEEK OF 4/20/09:

There were no DCS or BEARS messages or nets last week due to the Semi
Annual DCS meeting held in Agoura Hills. Primary topic was DCS renewals
and FEMA courses.

Here are this week's messages:

Welcome to 2009! The BEARS have a busy year scheduled ahead.

Upcoming BEARS Net Control Operators:

04/27/09 Wanda Penner KG6GTA
05/04/09 Chester Brown K6CRB
Net control operators needed for May:

Please volunteer during roll call. Everyone needs to be proficient as net
controller, it is not difficult, it just takes practice!

------------------------------------------------

Make sure to plan to attend the May 13th BEARS meeting, as Wanda
Penner KG6GTA has planned another awesome earthquake drill to test
our skills!

------------------------------------------------

Check your CDV membership card; if it is due for renewal, call the City Live
Scan office at 818 238-5340.

------------------------------------------------

During this extremely hot weather, remember to keep hydrated. Drink lots of
water, not colas, teas, etc. as they are diuretics. Remember your pets
need water too!

------------------------------------------------

Here is the BEARS calendar for the rest of 2009. Plan to attend every month.
Important training will be featured at each meeting. All interested persons
are invited to attend.

DCS renewals are in progress. If you are planning to renew your DCS
membership, make sure you have completed FEMA Courses IS100, 200,

forms need to be sent to Crescenta Valley Sheriff Station for Live Scan and
