Burbank Fire Corps Auxiliary Communication Service (ACS) Net Control
Operators are needed. As a member of the Burbank Fire Corps Auxiliary
Communication Service (ACS) we ask that all our members at least ONCE
A YEAR be a Net control Operator. If no one volunteers, stations will be
assigned.

Everyone should monitor the Burbank Fire Corps Auxiliary Communication
Service (ACS) repeaters 446.860 -- now identified as “ALPHA” -- along
with N6MQS 448.540, now identified as “BRAVO,” on a daily basis. 

------------------------------------------------


On Easter Sunday, April 4 at approximately 1640 hrs, a 7.2 magnitude
earthquake struck northern Mexico and was felt in the Los Angeles area.
ARES activated net operations on the DARN system and approximately
20 ARES members checked in. No activity was heard on the Burbank
ACS repeater. If there is an earthquake, check in on our repeater. If there
is no net control, YOU ARE THE NET CONTROL. This is what we do.

The North East district of ARES has a new repeater at Raymond Hill --
Pasadena area. 448.800 R 151.4 PL. Please program this repeater
along with the DARN system frequencies into your radios. Remember
to check into the ARES Northwest District nets on Monday nights at
2100 hrs (9 PM) on the DARN system.

Don't forget to join us for coffee social at Starbucks next to Bob's Big Boy
on Riverside Drive on most Mondays and Wednesdays starting at about
5.30pm. If you can’t make it then call in on 446.860.

If you know anyone interested in getting their technician license, the IRC
(Independent Radio Club) is sponsoring a Technician licensing class on
Saturday May 15 and Sunday May 16 at Eagle Rock City Hall. Lost Hills
Sheriff Station has a class THIS SATURDAY.

Eric Christensen K6EJC will be on vacation from 04/16 through 05/08.
Assistant City Radio Officer Alex McGregor K9AKM will be in charge of 
Burbank Firecorps ACS during this period.
