On Friday, 04/30/2010, and email was sent out from M-001 and
Staff 10 regarding a special event for the Boy Scouts. In this message,
it was noted that a prompt reply was requested. At this time only 4 people
have responded. It is hoped that everyone take these messages as
important for you to read and respond even if you are NOT able to participate.
By not responding, I do not know if the message got through, or you just
don’t care. However, it is your responsibility to reply either yes or no to the
event. As we prepare for the approaching fire season, it is imperative that
replies to special district messages are acknowledged. IF you did not get
the message from either M-001 or Staff 10 for the Boy Scout event, please
contact Mike Farrell through email at farrell075@aol.com.
For those who did not respond, do so ASAP!

The Semi Annual Meeting was attended by over 60 members who were
presented with a “Year in Review” by Staff 10, explanations on new classes
and policies, in depth explanation of the Organizations position on CRO's
and RACES. Certificates were presented to those members who contributed
350 or more hours in 2009 and those participating in events since the last
semi-annual meeting. Those present were updated on drills which are in the
works both within DCS and with other Counties and an update on the
conclusion of our recent legal issues. At the end of the meeting, an
Opportunity Drawing (raffle) was held. As always, it was good to see
everyone and we look forward to seeing you at the next Semi Annual
Meeting on October 18th. Thank you to all who attended and everyone
that helped set up, run errands, handled photography, provided
refreshments, and assisted with the clean up.

Reminder: After an event such as an earthquake, please listen to the DCS
repeater and check in and listen to Net Control At the beginning of the net
it may be important to know the intensity of the shake of an earthquake.
However, it may be more important to know who is listening. Please listen
to the instructions from NC and the reports from other members, and make
your report as concise and to the point as possible. In a large event,
time will be an important commodity.
