Prepare. Plan. Stay Informed.

A significant emergency or disaster can occur at any time. Results can range from a disruption of daily life to a loss of life. The City of Burbank is committed to assisting the community in the preparation for, response to and recovery from just such an occurrence.

The City maintains a comprehensive emergency preparedness program through the Burbank Fire Department's Disaster Preparedness Division. The Division is responsible for preparing the City staff and departments, as well as the general community, for a major situation. This preparation includes community outreach and education programs on various emergency and disaster preparedness topics. In addition, the Division builds and fosters relationships with various Non-Governmental Organizations, Private Business Partnerships and Faith Based Organizations that may play a significant role in a disaster.

The Ready Burbank Program is the local application of the national Ready America Program. If you live or work in Burbank, and have questions on preparedness or disaster awareness, we encourage you to start here.
